Los Angeles Tee Times: Where to Book and What to Check First
Find the right booking system for Los Angeles golf, understand player-card rules, and build a realistic plan for public-course tee times.

To find Los Angeles tee times, start with the operator of the course you want to play. LA City courses, LA County courses, Long Beach courses, and independently operated facilities do not all share one reservation system or one set of booking rules.
Getting that first step right saves you from searching the wrong calendar or assuming a player card works everywhere. This guide is a booking roadmap, not a live inventory of available times.
Match the course to its booking system
| Where you want to play | Start here | Check before reserving |
|---|---|---|
| Rancho Park, Penmar, Griffith Park, or Sepulveda courses | LA City Golf | Player-card status, booking window, and cancellation terms |
| An LA County facility | LA County's course directory | The booking link for that specific course |
| El Dorado, Skylinks, Recreation Park, or Heartwell | LBC Golf | Course selection and any resident benefits |
| A separately operated public course | The facility's own website | Its reservation provider and current policies |
Always enter a booking provider through an official course link. A similar course name or a familiar-looking calendar is not enough to establish that you are in the right place.
Understand the LA City booking window
The LA City Golf FAQ currently lists advance reservations opening at 6 a.m.: nine days ahead for Player Card holders and seven days ahead for other golfers. Check that page before relying on the timing, because booking policies can change.
A Player Card is different from a GHIN number or membership in an independent golf community. If you join Early Birdies, you still need to meet the course operator's requirements for any special booking privileges.
Before the reservation window opens, know your group size, preferred course, acceptable start-time range, and fallback choice. Make sure everyone understands the financial commitment. A booking made before anyone has confirmed can turn an available tee time into an avoidable cancellation.
Have a fallback that still fits your day
The best alternative is not necessarily another 18-hole round farther away. It might be nine holes near home, a different day, or a later start that leaves enough daylight.
Choose those tradeoffs in advance. If your group can only play Saturday morning, it is more useful to agree on two suitable courses than to search all of Southern California after your first choice disappears. If you have a fixed afternoon commitment, protect that end time instead of assuming any open slot will work.
Official waitlists can be useful where a course offers them. Availability is never guaranteed, so wait for a confirmed reservation before telling the group the round is on.
Read the cancellation terms before checkout
Review the deposit, cancellation deadline, short-show rules, and check-in requirement. LA City's booking and conduct rules prohibit unauthorized tee-time brokering and automated reservation tools. Use permitted booking channels and keep the confirmation somewhere you can find it.
If plans change, follow the operator's instructions promptly. Removing a name from a group chat is not the same as modifying a reservation.
Solve the playing-partner part separately
Early Birdies helps golfers connect for public-course rounds and club events. We do not operate a public tee-time marketplace or promise access to sold-out slots.
If finding a group is the harder part, explore club membership. For a shorter Westside round, use our Santa Monica-area public golf guide to narrow the course list before you start booking.
